tough game, they will all be tough from now on, some big games on this round, so could be a vital night. 3 points is all that matters, recent performances dont matter one bit as we won. we need to treat these lads as if they were top. they have 10 points and have always given us a tough game, they have 3 or 4 excellent players. its good to be starting these threads and being back involved again!

Did Martin say he was out this week?

Will be a tough game, they are a big physical side with some decent players.

Also I would expect both Ket and RR to both pick up 3 points tomorrow so we have to do the same.

Welcome back Ed! Pity to be missing Martin but great to have a player like Ed coming back into the fold at an important phase of the season.

Need to play our own game against these lads and press up to put them under pressure - they're at their best when allowed to take a bit of time on it from deep and bring their 3 best players into it. Cutting them off at source will be key - plenty of chasing down by the front men and wingers to start.

5-1 win. had to work hard to win it,not as easy as it looks, though we played super stuff in the last 20 mins. early goal from gav and then ciaran put us 2 up. there was 3 or 4 chances that could have went in and they had a few half chances. mick scored a screamer with about 20 left to put us ahead and from then on in, they pushed on, but we could have scored about 4 more, but got 2, to their one effort. overall, played well and with roys rovers loosing, we are now 3 clear at the top. 7 games left, but alot of hard work ahead.
dave and art got the 4th and 5th.

Was a good result and once we got the first one I felt we'd go on to score more, we probably should have hit double figures but their keeper did pull off a few decent saves.

Some really good performances at each position tonight. We really pushed forward well as a team.

Great result lads, but more importantly, we played really well.

The full-backs did an excellent job in getting forward and pressing them into defensive areas, midfield was brilliant too.

The strikers worked well, and our strong bench meant we could rotate very well.

I hope you all didn't mind me not telling you the actual score in the RR/TFI match until after, I just felt it would have added pressure to us to get a result.

Anyway, being three clear at the top of the league is a good feeling. Let's make sure it lasts. :)

Yeh, that was a good performance. Took us a little bit to get into our groove but we kept at it and started playing some lovely football and though we didn't look like losing the lead once we went 1-0, the attitude of the entire team to keep the concentration and push for the second was spot on.

Agree the last 20 was very impressive, particularly given that we'd actually done plenty of running and chasing down by that point but we were strong till the end.

The benefits of our squad system really shone through tonight with the likes of Pat playing an excellent game to offer another possibility at centre-mid, Ed coming on to get back into the mix, and Ciaran getting back into scoring habits with a lovely goal while my finishing was off - that depth is standing to us and the competition will ensure effort levels stay high.

Great to see Mick getting forward plenty in this game and enjoying himself with a screamer to finish it off.

Great stuff lads. Let's bring the form of this match into the next game and continue our push for silverware.

in 5 seasons with the team, it was the most attacking minded ive ever seen us! ive missed some games, so not sure if its a tactic we have been using for a while but keith and mick spend more time in the opposition half than ours!

means a lot of pressure on the 2 ch's and the dm, but if done right against some of the weaker opposition, then it should mean alot of goals.

I think it was the most attacking we have played in the 2 seasons I've been with boards. Jeff, Dan and then Ed really kept things tight and tidied up which meant Dave and Gav were practically extra strikers and myself and Mick were on the wings.

Pat did very well covering the gap between the CHs and the front line and marshalled very well. Collie dropped deep a few times to help out but really pushed up to support the attack.

Only dark spot was the goal, but I would say we had taken our foot a little of the gas at that time.

It's what worked against us last week when the two centre halves were pulled apart by good forwards and full backs pushed up and no dm, but last night worked a treat.
