    Hi Guys,

I have been looking for a Audi Tdi for a while and was looking at over the weekend and am very tempted. It is a Sline with 100k kms, an irish car from a main dealer, fsh, timing belt and water pump just done. I am trading in my current car and deal seems ok.

What else should I look out for on these cars and get checked?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Make sure it actually is an S line. I'm not 100% on the kit that came with them, but I'm sure some of the lads on here know it.

After that, if it drives well, it's clean and has a fsh, a warranty and the deal is good, I think you're onto a good start. Best of luck with it.

I thought a '06 should have the newer 2.0 engine

Could have, but doesn't have to.

Cheers I know there seems to be different specs of s-line this has upgrade alloys.

The car is in Limerick as a coincidence!

Either way its a good site (besides Boards.ie) to have a look at to see whats on the market and what general things you need to know before making a purchase.

    Hope it helps.;)

Do you have a link to the car on carzone etc.?

It is not up on the dealers site yet, the car wasn't even cleaned when I saw it, serviced but not cleaned, due to be done today.

I will post it up if it is on the dealers site later.

    As a 2006 Audi A4 1.9 Tdi S-line(pack 4) driver I can say they are a good car.

Mine also had the timing belt and water pump done. Could it be mine? Is my boss selling mine? Oh Fook!!!! *Runs off to check employment contract. :D

They are a good car. Drawbacks. Smallish interior and the back seats do not fold down. Arm rest tends to get in the way of working the handbrake(you get used to it). Audi were very miserable with their spec of the B7 Shape Audi also. Shame.

One thing I noticed from your link and I know its not the car you are looking at but that owner of the car took apart their front headlights by baking their lights and removed the orange indicator cover and glued the lights back together. Looks very well.

I refer to my car as Pack 4 which basically means its the exterior kit including suspension only BUT it does not have the interior like the S-line seats or steering wheel. Check all this out first.

Important note. Check the front bumper. The standard A4 and S-line bumper are wildly different although slapping an S-line badge on the grille might throw you at first if it is a good salesman.

Also make sure their is a built in lip in the boot like in the link.

There was a thread a few months back where the car was being shown as an S-line 2.0 TDi when it fact it turned out to be a 1.9TDi with a new front bumper and stuck on lip spoiler.

Come back here when you find the car online and we can all have a gook(as they say in Limerick)

BTW, Here is mine on VAG http://vagdrivers.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=30042

    Nice!!!

I think thats the B7 '05-'07 a apposed to the B6 which is the '02-'04 model.

Well worth getting a good check over to ensure that the s-line kit is factory fitted.(There are a lot of the B6 models pretending to be S-lines) The usual signs that its not factory is that there will have the 1.8/2.0L turbo petrol back bumper (usually has the dual flow exhausts) instead of the factory s-line bumper (which is just a colour coded bumper wih a lip)
I dont think the diesels look so well with the two big black patches at the rear as a result of the dual exhausts.

Also if you have look at the pics from the link you sent you will see that that carhas the s-line interior pack which is usually a good sign that exterior kit would be factory unless someone has gone to the bother of changing the seats/ dash etc!!

These cars also come with a sports pack which means that cars has lower/ stiffer suspension and a 6-speed gear box. (I'm sure this is the case with the B6 anyway). This might be worth having a look at before buying also as it is a nice extra.

I hope this info is correct but please, anybody feel free to correct me if i'm wrong.

All the best with your purchase AIA.
