Problem with an ipod

    here's my problem:

    I got an ipod from my FIL a few years back which had been linked to his mac at that time as I had a PC.

    I transferred the ipod to my PC in due course without any problems.

    Santa brought me an Imac at Xmas, Ipod worked grand and music transferred without a hitch.

    Last night, trnasferring music from my itunes library to the ipod , a message popped up saying that the ipod needed to be reset which i did but lost all the contents. Now my Imac doesn't recognise the ipod so that i can re-sync my music.

    Any Suggestions?
