I was wondering if anyone knew the Horse power that a 2001 1.4l ford focus LX would have? I cannot find it on the internet for the life of me...

Thanks, I heard it was between 70 and 80 from a mate, was just getting a second opinion.

I am looking to trade it in for a 1.4l Seat Leon Sports Plus, which has 125 bhp. I guess that is a pretty big differance between the powers? Not too bothered about top speed or anything like it. I am interested in acceleration though. Any thoughts on this car? Thanks.

Test drove one last week to replace my Leon. Had a 1.4 Focus before my current car. I thought the 1.6 in the one I have now was a big step up from the Focus and the 1.4 tsi just blows it out of the water. Serious go for what it is. Was economical enough on the test drive too. You def wont be disappointed.

Is it a brand new one you're looking at? They changed the specs on them very slightly recently removing rear electric windows and the electric folding mirrors. Try get one of the older specs if you can because there are still a few about

General consensus here seems to be that the Focus 1.4 is underpowered. 1.6 is 100 bhp

Yea, well I went from a nissan micra to a 3 cylinder corsa to a ford focus. I found the little twin cam in the micra to be an amazing engine. Great fun little car. Torque was rubbish though.

I am looking at a brand new one. Any reasons why they took away the folding mirrors and the rear electric windows? The folding mirrors is a big seller, considering the amount of mirrors a person looses on my street is unreal. "Why don't you just fold them yourself?", well I have the memory of a fish, I WILL forget. :)

Also, I don't see an option to add leather interior which is also very important to me. Anyone have a price region on the leather interiors?

Aren't VW doing some sort of deals on Golfs at the moment? might be worth a look. I think the Mk5 GTI is on special offer. Did I hear figures of around 25k?
