    I have seen it done but you will need to optimise the hell out of the image so not every image will be suitable. try lowering the number of different colours and the amount of detail and see how small you can get the image.

    I've done it a few times.
    Most images can be done, and to be honest i haven't seen much of a quality depreciation on mine or any others i've seen so in my opinion most images can be used. The only images i know require optimisation are gifs.

    Anyway to answer your question, go into the roll your own skin in the bebo skins section and they are a sufficient detailed introduction on how to do it.

    I used to make a loads of skins, best made in Photoshop. All the dimensions are on Bebo so you need to create new images in PS and then work away. When you save the image, select "Save for Web" so you can alter the quality, add blur etc, to reduce the file size to the mandatory size (40KB for the main image).
