As the thread says, I received a faulty hard drive enclosure from the states, the original delivery charge was €40, I have contact the company and explained the item is faulty, they are willing to replace the product but have asked me to return the faulty product.

Do I have to pay for return?

well i would have asked to person I was dealing with. If the product is within warranty and faulty - IMO you shouldnt be paying for the exchange.

If they were in the EU, then you shouldn't pay for return postage on a faulty item. Since they're in the US, you have no consumer protection at all, and it's completely up to them whether they even take the return, you can do nothing to force their hand.

A hard disk enclosure is only worth about €20, buy one closer to home and forget about this one.

I agree, I don't think you should have to, but you may end up doing so.

I returned items bought online twice, both to the US, one was an item of clothing, wrong size was sent, the other was an item that was sent instead of the actual item I ordered. Both times it was left up to me to pay the postage.

Thanks guys, maybe have to take a hit on this one so. Jor el it was actually a Firewire 800 enclosure which are hard to get this side of the pond, hence buying from the USA. :(
