Assault Rifle Recommendations

I have had an mp5 for a number of months now and while I love the thing to bits, I think its time for me to get something with a bit more "oomph" when I pull the trigger. Unfortunately when it comes to assault rifles I really have no idea of whats good and what isn't. So what would be your recommendations on something to fill that void? I would be willing to spend up to about €300 or €350 on it so my budget isn't that limited. Don't really have any particular likes or dislikes when it comes to assault rifles, but I had my eye on the Dboys HK416 and the A&k M249. Are those particular AEGs any good or am I way off?
Thanks in advance for any advice!

If its another AEG you go for then its unlikely to feel any different when you fire it, the performance will be pretty similar too. you could go the M4 gas blowback route as many on here have,

Well the only big difference between SMG and assault rifles is size. They have longer barrels which adds to performance a bit but its not a huge factor. I wouldnt recommend the M249 as that thing is big and heavy and technically not an assault rifle. The 416 is a nice thing but but in that price range Id go for a high end one. Theres a top tech 416 in Eirsoft, its the same company as G&G i believe so its quality, and that particular one is electric blowback. Ive no experience with EBBs but it would be something different

    Thanks for the replies!
I wouldn't be too interested in any GBBs that weren't a side-arm tbh, seems like more hassle and gas than I'm willing expend :o. I'll look at that g&g 416 you were talking about.
