    Hello everyone,

Currently on JSB, I have been offered some work recently for stint of about 6 weeks. My question is, can I come off the dole for those 6 weeks, and then go back on it and claim JSB, or will it be treated as a new claim and have to wait ?

Also, I have been considering desinging websites to pull in some cash, but if I was to do this , surely this violates my JSB and would have to stop claiming, would I be right in saying this? The problem I have with designing sites is it may bring in some cash but it may be very hit and miss , not a guaranteed income.

    Anyone possibly advise?

as for the 6 weeks' work, you'd have to ask at the social welfare office but I can't see why they wouldn't just reopen your existing claim.

As for the webdesigning, have you looked into back to work enterprise allowance? There is no longer any qualifying period for people on JB.

I went on a 12 week FAS course and before going on the course, was told that I would have to sign off and when the course is over, sign back on again. That's exactly what happened. The course ended about 5 weeks ago, and I still haven't heard back from social welfare, so keep that in mind (you'll have to go to see a Social Wlefare Officer about getting money whilst waiting on the ever-slow process of JSB actually cathing up with you).
