I have a 6 grand lump sum Im wondering what to do with and was just wondering if anyone recommends prize bonds? I would be leaving it in for a minimum of one year but it could be longer. Has anyone ever crunched the numbers on them to give odds of winning anything, they were popular years ago but you dont hear much about them nowadays.

IMO Proze Bonds are generally little better than putting your money in the mattress. If you feel compelled, by a limited value, then if capital security is your concern, put the rest in a secure deposit account or consider alternatives such as capital guaranteed investment bonds
