And my water has turned green already.
Gave it the shock treatment of more chlorine, so that tomoro I could add more Algicide, but now the water is nearly lake black:eek:
    Somethings not rite!!

Anyone got tips - its for the kids, so want a clean pool all summer long, but not impressed if I have to drain 5000 litres of water only to refil it every week!! (My well wont survive then:()

HELP Please anyone who has done this before and now knows what theyre doing:D

    Thanks for reading.

I've the exact same problem. Refilled it 3 times. Still gone black. Go to your nearest swimming pool and ask them. Argos also have something to do with pool treatment can't remember exactly what it is though.

I'll leave this here in case anyone knows something but home pool queries don't tend to get a lot of answers in sports > swimming. rec> home & Garden might be better?

Its the pool starter kit I bought from Argos which I think isn't doing anything for me. On the leaflet that came with it it said if the water turned green to add extra stabelising chlorine granules - 20g per 1000L water, so added 100g of stuff, but just turned water blacker!!!!!!! So much for the water getting shock treatment - im in shock myself after spending all that money on products.

Im going to have to empty the pool again as its gone disgusting and wouldn't put a fly in it!!

Thanks for those links enfant terrible, but im seriously considering not doing it again, as I'm on a well, and can't afford it to happen again.........

Have been on to company, and apparently test strips are not working as basically I didn't get a proper reading. There was too much chlorine in the water (seeing as not able to get an accurate reading kept adding more to get to the correct levels......), this resulted in water going green. In turn the shock treatment which one does when water turns green, led to water being over chlorinated and turning brown. Now I have to emply, clean and start again.

First it will have to rain heavily (AT NIGHT ONLY OF COURSE:D), then I can re-fill it.

Hoping for the best, as this was a great plan for the summer.
