Ok, so I've been looking for a laptop for a while now. Don't know that much about processors etc., ie what's good and what's not. My budget is 450e max. Was on powercity site there and saw this yolk-

    TOSHIBA 15.4" INTEL LAPTOP
    # CELERON T1600 1.66 GHZ PROCESSOR.
    # 3GB RAM AND 160 GB HARD DISK.
    # 15.4" TRU BRITE WIDESCREEN
For a price of 430e which seems pretty reasonable!

    And also:
    TOSHIBA 15.4" DUAL CORE LAPTOP
    # BONUS Free Offer AMD ATHLON X2 DUAL-CORE.
    # TK-57 1.9GHZ PROCESSOR .
    # 2GB RAM & 160GB HARD DRIVE.
    For 400e.

Which one looks better to all you 'in the know' folks? These processors any good and will 2GB be enough? Will I be able to connect to poker servers and that sorta' thing?

Don't really have a clue so can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Cheers, Andy.

I think the Toshiba would be the better of the 2 as the processor would be a fairly good spec.

This processor is a couple of years old now so it is not a current laptop.

You could probably add memory if you needed but I have a dell with 2GB and the same processor and it is fine.

Thanks! Might go for that one just hoping it's decent because 400quid seems very cheap!

I don't know about processors, but If I were you i'd go with the 3GB RAM. A friend of mine is running Vista on 2GB of RAM and he's constantly sitting through "Not Responding" messages and the computer going painfully slow, whereas I've got 3GB RAM on my Desktop and Laptop, and both are significantly better than his.

Plus it's only €30 in the difference. Don't get me wrong, i could be way off with the RAM being the issue, as I'm not very familiar witht he different parts, etc. but in my uninformed view, I'd rather spend the extra €30.
