    Hi,
I've just realised that some files I had stored on an external HD have filenames that are too long. I tried copy the folder to my C drive and it told me the file name was too long. I googled and found out that the whole path is considered the file name, so instead of transferring it to C:user:documents and settings:desktop:folder:, I just transferred it to C and it all transferred no problem. Once on C, I then transferred it to the other folder and now the long file names wont open and I can't delete or rename them and it wont even allow me delete the folder they are in:confused:

If anyone knows how I can solve this I'd appreciate any advice :)
