    It's a Trek Y-Foil time trial bike.

The total lack of details on the advert indicates to me that it's nicked, but maybe I got out of bed on the cynical/suspicious side today.

    Mentioned here as well.

I'm a bit fascinated by these bikes. Presume they're un-Euro?

Would a tea-leaf know to mention the make of groupset and pedals in the ad?

Well I'm fairly dubious of the ad for the simple reason that any info given on in the description can be read straight off the frame/components/pedals.

Fair enough. I'd only had a quick look at the ad - Hadn't noticed that no questions had been answered. Those things stick out like a sore thumb though so can't be the cleverest thing to fence.

So if it is probably stolen property, is there anything to be done? Report the post / inform Gardai.... is it doubtful that anything could actually be done?

Also some interesting things about the ad; its listed as "Treck OCLV" and not as a Trek Y-foil

Looks very like a road bike version of the Trek YXX range of mountainbikes of old. Aah... remembering those days... Must have been early to mid 90's??

Y-Foils didn't exist for long in road form, maybe two years I think, back around 1998/1999 from memory. There was a rather fetching gold coloured one that I remember Cycleogical had in their window for a while. I think they had a road Y-foil in one window and one of the Y-MTB's in the other window. At that time (useless information coming up!), the owner of Trek, John Burke happened to be in Dublin and just happened to walk accross the ha'penny bridge and see his companies two top models - at that time - in the window. Apparently he was extremely chuffed and took photos back to Wisconsin to show everyone at the factory!

    God though, haven't they dated!
