Anyone ever been to a premiere before?

I mean like a real, star attended premiere?

I'm going to be in London from next week for a while, and I see that the Public Enemies premiere is on Monday the 29th, with Johnny Deep and Marion Cotilliard attending.

Is it just a case of standing there and hoping to get a half decent spot, or what?
    Any help appreciated

i was at a premiere. Not real stars though. A couple of swingers i used to drink with left their home made video on the bar a few years back by mistake. We had some laugh looking at it. Was hilarious. They still dont know we all see her getting boned while her husband was filming.

You'll have to get up pretty early in the morning to get a good spot at a Johnny Depp premiere

Was at the Irish premiere of JFK which was shown during the Dublin film festival. Oliver Stone was in attendance and gave a speech before the movie was shown. Everybody was seated and just before the movie started the President Mary Robinson was brought in,everybody stood up and the film was shown. Stone was in the foyer after the movie speaking to everybody.
That same year I also attended the premiere of Cape Fear. Scorsese didn't show up but the great cinematographer Freddie Francis gave a speech before the movie.

Mission Impossible III in the Savoy. Excellent presentation and a decent atomsphere. Shame about the film and the lead actor.

Edit : oh, you meant ... oh right...
em, no can't say I've ever done that.

I went to the Irish premiere of Star Trek Insurrection. Total crap - we were taken on a bus from the Square to a secret location (Blanchardstown) where the special guest celebrities (yer man from Fair City, on his own) gave a little speech before the film began. Then we were taken back to Tallaght where the nightclub in one of the hotels was booked for a couple of hours for us (we didn't stay).
