Tyrone v Derry

This looks set to be a cracker. Derry struggled against Monaghan while Tyrone looked smooth against Armagh but there is nothing like seeing a Tyrone jersey to get the Derrymen going.

In saying that, I have to fancy Tyrone.

    Any thoughts?

Would expect Tyrone to win by 2-3 points in a very physical game

Have to think Derry are missing too many players, especially Doherty, though he can be a liability too.

Fancied Derry in the AI Pools, but too many players out. Tyrone by 4.

Well half time there with tyrone rightfully ahead, derry had loads of chances in the first ten to fifteen minutes to put themselves in front with a good lead. Both teams playing sloppily but tyrone slightly better.

Cant see derry takin it back in the second half tyrone by 3

Edit more like 33 the way they are playin, derry resorting to physicality to try make a dent and tyrone went on to score two points after it so it clearly didnt work

    Bad stuff derry

I have taken 3 things from this game (and I'm excluding an hour and a half of my life):

    1) Utter tripe. Derry continuously pumped aimless ball at their only quality forward despite him being double marked and having absolutely no support.

    2) Fighting was disgraceful but for some reaon seems acceptable in Ulster. Dooher as ever with his theatrics...no change there.

    3) JOE BROLLY - PLEASE JUST SHUT UP! NOBODY WANTS TO HEAR YOU'RE CONVALUTED TRIPE MONGERING ABOUT DERRY AND ULSTER FOOTBALL ANY MORE.

Brolly is a derry man who defends derry players who are guilty of dirty play, and who attempts to defend same on the Sunday Game.

That may be so but it has no place in this thread.

There was just as bad in the Waterford Limerick match but I suppose it's the "pc" thing to slag Ulster Football.

Was in Casement for this poor match. Never got going, no championship feel at all to it. Tyrone looked good in patches and Derry were awful. Missing key players like Fergal Doherty and James Kielt may be an excuse, while Tyrone could bring on good players Dooher, McGuigan and McCullagh, Derry had nothing. Tyrone should win Ulster now. Overall the Ulster Championship has been one of the worst in years (so far), with only Tyrone v Armagh offering 35 mins of good football.:(

I haven't seen the game properly yet. I was out and only saw patches of it but it looked physical and I've been told it was.

There's still the other Ulster semi final to go and Antrim and Cavan swerved up a great game of football last year in the preliminary round! 2-19 to 2-14 I think it ended.

The real action of the championship will start now in the qualifers and from the quarter finals on.
