I'll probably get this, though I prefer having a physical copy. I'm glad I still have one!

You cannot play this game at the current video output setting. (80028F10)

    WTF does this mean?

I don't need to download it cos I still have my original game :D:D:D

It looks shocking after playing MGS4 but it's still quality.

Love the bit with Psycho Mantis.

Did a quick search, seems to be related to the type of tv.
Do you have an SD tv?

I know its GTA IV, but same error

It's a pretty decent PAL conversion as well so not much point getting the American version. You can have the full speed american version or the slightly higher res but bit slower PAL version. The music is fine in the PAL version as well.

If you have an american PS3 you will get this error playing a PAL game in standard def. NTSC PS3's can't display PAL except in a HD format.

I always have to do that with PS1 titles. They wont play via HDMI

Thats strange that they don't play through HDMI. It works for me on my NTSC PS3. It could be because the PAL games run at 50Hz but HD resolutions run at 60Hz.

As for buying on the american PSN you can find people that sell US PSN cards on ebay.

All my ps1 downloads play via HDMI. My ps3 is EU. I have EU, US and Japanese psone games on it.

The ps1 titles plays through hdmi. It just doesn't like 1080p output which is what the ps3 automatically sets it to if your tv supports it. Change your display resolution to 720p only and it'll be fine. The reason behind this I am guessing is not a technical one, it just looks too small and crap otherwise.

Entropay works on the US PSN also, btw. You can load up a virtual card with your Irish CC and then spend with it on the US store. Just make sure to set your address on your US account to a US address (can be any address..entropay doesn't check against addresses when authorising the card).

cool thank you :) I'll look into it,

Btw, My ps1 classics work fine connected through hdmi

What about the remake ? Twin Snakes

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 52,410 CMod ✭✭✭✭Retr0gamer

Oh god, don't bother with it. While not a bad game the first person aiming totally breaks a lot of it and makes the boss fights too easy and the cutscenes so ridiculously over the top and stupid that watching them is like being bukkaked with stupid.

mgs 1 destroys the remake, it should never be remade again

+1. The near-flawless voice acting of the original is also re-done. The accents were removed and it's just not the same!

What they did to Mei Ling was unforgivable tbh.

They changed the voice acting??? Including snake????!!! FML.

nah , david hayter still done snake,
A lot of people still do the same voice,
Just sound different, I hate grey fox's voice in twin snakes, it ruins it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,485 ✭✭✭Mr. K

    Liquid's
    "Did you like my sunglasses?!"
line wasn't nearly as good in Twin Snakes, that's one of my favourites in the original!

Bought this last night on the US PSN with a PSN card I bought on gaminglue.com.

It is just like I remember it. Every with the poor graphics and sound [in comparison to current titles], it still holds all the tension it had during the first playthrough. Definitely my favourite PS1 title.

That part is really easy if you save up as many stun grernades as you can and time it so that when 1 goes out the next starts up. You can get most of the way up with this tactic without taking out your gun. Guns blazing is more fun though!
