Pine Martens

    Hi all

My hubby and I have a little problem...namely a couple of Pine Martens living in the roof of our cottage. They are up romping about in the roof insulation.

Yes, I know they are lovely. And I know they are rare. And I also know they are a protected species.

But we don't want them in the house.

They are wrecking the place, and the whole upstairs stinks with Pine Marten Pee.

We're not currently living there, but we're trying to get the place habitable to move in ASAP...and the plumbers and electricians etc won't work there while these two furry friendsare scampering about up there.

Yes, I also know they are solitary animals, but seemingly these two don't know that! I think there are babies in the roof too, but definitely two adult-sized Martens have been seen literally climbing together up the cottage walls to slip under the eaves.

So what are our, legal, options in getting rid of them?
