Ok so long story short about a friend...

She's been in love before but the relationship ended, now a year after that has met a lovely new fella, they knew each other for a few months, not really close, but got together and they've only been together 3 weeks and shes told me that shes thinks she's in love with him already...

Well she says thats how she feels anyway, but doesn't want to say it so quickly or scare him! She's asked me is it even possible to be in love already!

My answer was that I do believe in love at first sight, but I suppose I'm still kinda unsure!!

So whats the general feeling here? Can you be in love with someone after only a short time?

It's definitely possible for infatuation to be that strong at the start that it feels like you've met your soulmate. And people will tell you stories of the couple who met, were married in two weeks and are still together 50 years later. Infatuation turning into love is a subtle process though so it's hard to tell at the early stages if it will last or just fizzle out.

It's possible that she loves him, yes, but she would be well advised to hold off a month or two - especially if he's younger (under 23 or so). But telling him how great she thinks he is is appropriate at any time.
