Took a long weekend in Budapest last year and went to their magnificent opera house (to see Ballet as it happened). Would like to do the same again this summer, although maybe to experience opera this time. Does anyone have any recommendations for a particular performance and / or venue (the city it's located in should also have it's pluses).

Vienna is great but the Staatsoper, and other places I think, are closed in July and August.
