Would you vote YES to Lisbon because we owe it to Europe?

Do you think we owe it to our European counterparts to vote yes because we have benefited so much since joining? Regardless of what is written in the Lisbon treaty? I know of many people who voted YES for this reason.

I think the decision to vote yes or no should be based on an understanding of the treaty's provisions, and of the likely consequences of its implementation or non-implementation.

Any other reason for voting is spurious.
