Just been to the CDiscount warehouse sale. Bought a pair of Ray Ban aviators for only 60 euro and a 19' LG TV for only 99 euro. Some other good deals

    42' Polaroid LCD. €350
ACER Pentium Dual Core 2GB for €299
6 Bottles of Champagne for €100
    CK suits for €175
    Diesel shoes for 30

There's a good selection. Only issue is the queue to pay. The're dog slow!

Oh other issue is the LMFM roadcaster outside playing crap music!!

I assume this is the same crowd that made iqon computers. I regret buying stuff from them when they had a big sale.

It might be the same premises and maybe even the same owner but I don't think that is has anything to do with iQon.

Yeah I see its part of a bigger European operation, Im just wary of that company.

It's a Samsung Syncmaster 932mw. Contrast ratio is 1000.1. Nice gloss black finish.

I bought a Samsung Syncmaster a couple of months back, and it went straight back. Picture was absolutely awful. I can't remember which model, but it really seemed like a computer monitor that "would do" as a TV.......

there's a reason why these places exist - normally below-par stuff sold to 'bargain-hunters' who want to tell everyone how cheap they got something.

    pass.

I can't believe this place have still not got the Irish website off the ground. After keeping an eye on UK bargain forums for a while it seems like their UK website offers the occasional amazing discounts on varying branded goods. There's alot of rubbish there so it's really a case of watching regularly to see what they have. They are well worth keeping an eye on.

Probably the same reason the like of Curry's have never "gotten around" to setting up a .ie site (that actually sells anything); there's still plenty of suckers out in the real world to make a better living from in Ireland and any website would undermine that retail presence.
Going to tip into this place later and see what it's like...

Was in it yesterday, didn't really see anything that was worth buying. Maybe a decent place to visit if you want to look at tvs. But really just look at the website. It tells you more or less whats in the store.

And a website would show up just how expensive we are. Amazing that even the most expensive stores in the US like Saks on 5th put up their prices on the web, no matter how expensive the product. Even Brown Thomas, where you know you are paying through the nose, doesn't put its prices up. Argos is one of the very few.

PC world had one for a while (you could even buy stuff on it!) but their prices showed them up when pitched against their UK portal, so they did the same thing Curry's/Dixons did and put up an "Under construction" banner and an 1890 number that no-one will answer.
When you think of it, Irish retailers have been very slow over the years to embrace e-tailing...the likes of buy4now springs to mind...the stuff was nearly more expensive online than in the physical shops and then you were crucified with slow, expensive delivery.
I like to shop online for just about anything and over the past 6 or so years, I've inevitably had to buy from the UK or US simply for the availabilty of what I wanted, nevermind the cheaper prices. There are still loads of things you can't buy online domestically here that are widely available in other countries...

    From their website...

Nipped in earlier, bit of a dodgy looking entrance into the place, but that's just a bit of dundalk charm ;)

Inside they had decent prices on stuff, like a 6 series Samsung 32" for e650ish and some good prices on laptops etc.

Seemed pretty good if you're in the market for buying some of that stuff.

Also had a Philips ext HDD 500GB for e30

Mate told me they are selling Samsung NC10 for €300, can anyone confirm?

Seems pretty legit but the main annoyance is their opening hours.

Fair enough, but it did sound dodgy from the start, I thought it was one of these "hotel auctions", the array of goods seemed quite strange, champagne, shoes, PCs, cheap brand names.
