Hi guys, Not going to get into to much detail, but my partners daughter is on a school trip. She is 12, got a call from her very up set. more upset then i ever heard, took a number of minutes and calls to try find out what was happening. One of the girl was hiperventalating (forgive spelling its late im very upset). there where no teachers around. The people from the adventure centre refused to come to the fone. Claiming no english. So called the gardai, They would call me back, called the centre got answering thing. left message. Gardai called back saying they had been taking to the people up at the centre by fone. did better then me.
All this time my partner and my self going out of our minds with worry. Teachers leaving our children unattened, with people that have no english and refused to come to the fone. Which i could hear very clearly.
sorry for going on but its just maddness to think teachers would leave large group of kids on there our with as far as i could hear, people with no interest in the childeren wellfair. Heading over to the school in the morning to talk with the headmaster. just so unprofessional,All happened between 00:39 and 01:05 when the teachers came back from their meal.
any advice would be very helpful. Doing my up most to keep it together.
Thank you for your time and thoughts.

Okay, I know you are upset but unfortunately I don't understand what the actual problem is as it isn't very clear from your post. From what I can gather your partner's child was on some sort of school trip (in the middle of the night?), so I'm guessing maybe in Gaeltacht or something? Some of the children seem to have been very upset for some reason, but you don't say why or what the cause of that was? From what you say it seems that the teachers left the children in the care of the centre staff for a period of 26 minutes whilst they were having dinner and in that period we must assume that some sort of incident took place?

Anyway, before you can get any advice from other posters I think you need to find out the facts and write a coherent and logical account otherwise we're in danger of speculating and thus unlikely to be of any assistance.

Teachers had left the children alone, gone off site totally, as in no one from the school was their to manage the kids.$ -5 day adventure trip. one of the girls had a panic attack/ hyperventalating. only two adults there where 2 males from the place they where staying in. both of which had little or no english. One of which refuesed to take the daughters phone. as i repeatly asked him to talk to me. I could hear him saying no no no fone no english. left voice mail on fone of the place they where staying saying the Gardai where on the way. contacted the local station explained what was going on. the Gardai where very good have to be said. teacher told my better half they been to out to dinner, after the our little one called to say the teachers had come back. Leaving the group of 30 odds kids ranging from 12 to 15 (there abouts) on their own with two strange males from the centre. had to give first aid advice to a 12 year old to help her friend. Been to the school this morning talked with the head master. He seemed shocked, but ball is in his court for the moment. I will be reporting the matter the the school education board/ Board of management for the school. Gross misconduct as far as I can see. These people where in a postion of trust. Left our child and our selves very up set stressed.

What kind of 'adventure centre' doesn't have staff that are used to dealing with children and are trained in first aid? Thats terrible.

The school should have checked out the centre though too.

Its does sound wrong that the Teachers who are taking guardianship of the children should leave the site for the evening. Surely one teacher needs to remain on site at all times. I wonder what the legality of that is?
