I know its kinda a stupid question to ask but if I walk into an AIB bank tomorrow and ask for a bank statement, can I be giving it straight away?

You can get a mini statement or print out on your account, but if you're looking for one that has your address on it, it has to be posted out.

Yup, they can give you an account print out, but they can't give you a "statement" statement like you get in the post. They have to be ordered.

    However.......

Word of warning, any printed statements / correspondance from the bank must have "x is regulated by the financial regulator". For that reason they may not give you a print out. If the branch in question was mystery shopped and this was found to be practice, the branch / bank would get in trouble.

It sounds like regulation gone mad and in this instance it sure is.
