Anyone know about bearings?

I was told I need 6000 RS bearings for the hub on my singlespeed. Can anyone tell me if 6000 RS and 6000 2RS are the same? The latter is proving a lot easier to source...

    Cheers!

The 6000 2RS will be of the same size but has a Rubber Seal on both sides, hence 2RS, likely your RS bearings have seals on both sides anyway.

    Here's a note I found on a site - substitute 6000 for 6303 in your case
Looking for RS and Z Series?

These bearings are enclosed (ZZ or 2RS) on both sides. However, some manufacturers, for example, stamp 6303 RS or 6303 Z, on BOTH sides of the bearing, therefore making the complete part number 6303 2RS and 6303 ZZ, respectively. However, if your bearing only has 1 side enclosed, then you will in fact need a 6303-RS or a 6303-Z .

Thanks for the replies, folks. I suspect it's rubber sealed on one side only so I guess that means I do actually need 6000 RS rather than 6000 2RS.

    Cheers.
