Have had magnet for 6 months in a rental property where they were the only option availible now i'm moving out their trying to stiff me for 6 months @ 100euro

    Is this for real?

I spoke through this issue with the guy when i was signing up and was told that if i was moving and the new property i moved too couldn't supply magnet then i would be free to leave the contract

Really bad show to be honest i've had terrible service(no tv for days on end dropped internet connections) since i moved there.

Any advise? Anyone any experience with this?

If you were told this then tell them to get bent.

Probably best to ask this question over on the Magnet forum:
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=1207

The Magnet employees over there might be able to short you out.

I have to agree that it is sharp practise making you buy out a contract when you had no other choice but to sign up for them and when you move out, whoever moves in after you will likely get a new contract from them, so it isn't like they will be losing money.

This really shouldn't be allowed in areas where there is only one supplier.

yeah its amazing really obviously the developer got a fat wad of fifties to let magnet in here to the detrement of the people actually living there

mad situation really from threads here it looks like these monopoly deals were common enough towards the greedy end of the property bubble

shame on the law makers for letting unfair market practises like this develop
