my phone which i bought only 10 months ago is broken,
the screen doesnt work..ie its half black and white,
i waited 21 days for it to be fixed by o2 and when i got it back it hasnt been fixed and has been deemed to be water damaged, even though i know for a fact it isnt cause it was knocked off
    and arm of a sofa.

what can i do now besides buying a new 1?

You could send it back again. You dont need to sent it back thru o2 you could send it yourself to MPRC.ie for one example.

the water damage may not have cause the fault on the screen but it would have voided the warranty.
you should have recieved a photo showing the damage caused by the moisture.
if its just the screen causing the problem you could get it repaired expect to pay 50 euro or more depending on model but the repair will proably not be guaranteed due to moisture,
only worth while if its a really nice phone
I'd say cut your loses and buy a new one. the w705 is nice:)
