faulty car stereo?

    Hello,

I recently purchased a Goodmans Car stereo/cd/mp3 and installed it in my car. When playing the radio, the sound is grand (at any volume), however when playing a cd, the sound is sort of muffled. Why is this? and can I do anything about it?

It has been suggested to me that it may be the car speakers not being able to handle bass which checks out as there is hardly any bass when playing radio. However, I tried turning down the bass when playing a cd and it is still the same.

Could this just be a faulty stereo or is it the speakers?

    cheers

    dan.

Just bring it back and exchange for a new one. Sounds dodgy.

Hi, thanx for replying. The only thing I would say is that I opened all of the packaging, including the packaging for the manual as i thought there may be a setting i can adjust to reduce the muffled sound. Am i still within my rights to return the item and get a refund or a replacement?

TO be fair, you were warned on your previous thread before you bought the sterei that Goodmans stuff was muck, and specifically that the sound quality was poor. bvest thing to do is bring it back to Argos and buy a proper one in Halfords (Or Argos if they have them)
