Anyone remember an electronic horn you could buy that attached to the handlebar of your bike and could emit a few different sounds? It was yellow with black trim and was quite the rage for short while.

Funny you should say that, I was in a bike story this week looking around and came across that exact horn. I used to have one myself as a kid and the packaging of the one I saw in the store looks like it came from the 80s.

The thing about those Vektars and Streetwolfs, out of the people I knew as a kid who had them, none of the affects actually worked. Did they only work for a week or something ?

The vektars came as a basic bike and you had to buy the consoles for the radio, sound generator, digital speedo separately, or you could buy the bike with blank consoles and buy one active console at a time as you saved your pocket money, one of the most expensive bikes at the time.

jeese the only sound effects my bike was making in the 80's was the noise of the cardboard that was stuck into the spokes, held there with a clothes peg, used to sound like a motorbike!brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrruummm!
