I just came across this so apologies if there have been threads about it before...

From what I can gather, it's a community development project with three main objectives: to re-use scrap bikes, to give people space/tools/guidance so they can repair their own bikes and to sell refurbished bikes. Seems like a winner of an idea to me...

    That's a great idea.

Yeh, saw this site a couple times (looking for a few road bikes atm for a cycle to Amsterdam), thought it was a great idea, but didn't properly read through (until now) to discover the workshop part.. Heard about things like this in the states, didn't occur to me there could be one here!

Could be well handy for people living in flats/appartments or just not having all the tools! I've dished out on most of them now myself, but can still picture myself using this place someday.

Even if you're just missing certain tools, ya can do all the time consuming jobs at home, and bring it there for an hour to say remove a bottom bracket or something along those lines..

    Best of luck to them!

Yep, good initiative. We should start sending people around there who ask for help here with simpler repairs like brakes, punctures, etc. Anyone been in the workshop?

€5 for tea and worktools? Excellent.

I wonder what they'd say if you asked for a lend of a pump though?;)

I'm very taken with this idea. Might also be a handy way of getting parts for older bikes, like lockrings for threaded headsets and spindles for three-piece bottom brackets (to name two things I occasionally need and can't get in most bikeshops anymore).

Has anyone been there or used them for anything?
