Sorry 'bout that - just looked up Kilbroney 2009 and saw the AOVC were pushing the Ballymena event - anyway, back to Plan A :P

A little clarification. AOVC are promoting the AOVC show at Ballymena.

A show has been arranged for Kilbroney for 20th. It is not the "AOVC Kilbroney 2000" that we were used to. Hopefully it will be a good show, but publicity has been late and scarce. Capri's posting of the 10 June info is the first I have seen, apart from the entry form.

(I am not a member of AOVC)

I really dont think the show tomorrow will be anything significant since the advertising has been poor and the main event takes place in Ballymena next wekend, following the old format, Traders, Graham Robson, Club stands etc.

Also judging by the weather it wouldn't surprise me if the Newry & Mourne Council cancel it at Rostrevor.............as usual !

This is the first i've heard of a show in Kilbroney, don't think i'd risk the journey at this stage.
Deffo heading to Ballymena next week with a few quid in my pocket looking for something over thirty years old and easy to work on.
I'm told by the organisers that there will be plenty of classics for sale.

Ah well, just back from the insignificant show in Kilbroney, 1000 cars plus, traders aplenty, usual OLD format, traders, club stands etc, funny about the advertising as well, I heard about the show months ago, even the sun shone for a while.
    :o
If the sun shines I might even go to the MAIN event next week,,,,,,,,,,,,but then, the expert advertising dosn't tell me where the showgrounds are, but I can always follow the signs.
    Have a NICE day

Hope i picked the right show waiting for ballymena. The last i heard there was over 1000 cars entered for the show. They have a website but don't say how many cars are actually entered. www.aovcclassicshow.co.uk
I'm glad Kilbroney went well and we could end up with two great shows up North.
Wonder what would happen if they decided to compete and run the two on the same day?

If we aren't carefull, we will end up with two shows in compettion with other and thats not what it's all about.....The North is big enough for two or three big shows a year and they should be supported by all.
I,m hopeing to get to B'mena on Sat; but busy busy......
Anyway, have a good day on Saturday, hope the sun shines.... metcheck gives wall to wall sunshine for the day.

Just back from Ballymena and yes it was a great day out.
Excellent venue and food available.I'd say there were over 1000 cars on display.
Autojumble and trade stands were also very good and not overpriced.
Cars in the "for sale" area were a bit thin on the ground.About 50 cars in all.
Good to have all the for sale cars together and not scattered around the show.I did see a Manta that i will follow up on.
Some club stands put in a hugh amount of work especially the Ford Anglia stand and Morris minor stand.
Really glad i made the trip, well done to the organisers and roll on Ternure next weekend.

Just found some great pics from this show on www.classiccarsales.ie in the "gallery" section.Sorry don't know how to put up the exact link.
These pics show how big the show was and are well worth a look for anybody that did not make it up.
