    Hi all,

Have a quick question. I recently covered two steps in a dining room with solid oak timber. The question is what is the best way to treat the timber to avoid making sh%£e of it. I would be looking for a matt finish taht can take a lot of abuse and not too slippy. I have used sanding sealer/matt lacquer on my skirtings and doors and they look great. So what do the experts out there recommend?
    Sanding sealer/laquer/oak oil??

    Any help greatly appreciated.....

There have been a few posts about finishing stairs etc.. most seem to recommend some kind of diamond coat floor finish.
