    Are you wireless or wired?

If you are wireless, on your PS3, go to Internet Connection Settings, select Easy, then Wireless and then scan. Choose your network and enter password(if there is one).
Press X to save settings and then test connection.
Hopefully it will succeed for first 3 steps. Not available UPnP(mine anyway). Hopefully you will have nat type 1 or preferably type 2. Nat type 3 will affect online gaming.

If you are wired, buy a wireless router and start as above. :D

    Ok..
Either you have you computer connected through wireless or through cable.

Then people will be able to give you a better idea of what you have to do.

No. Use my previous post as a guide to connecting your PS3 to the router.
