He's out for this weekends game. A concussion wouldn't rule you out for 3 straight weeks.

I thought it was 3 weeks mandatory for concussion

it may just do. when you have concussion you have to take a test on a computer, its to do with your reaction times, if you take longer than you did with your times without concussion you are out....length of the delay in the answers relates to lenghtof time out....ryan jones was sent home for this reason

Spore, nobody is on the plane. Why would they bother calling up someone now? To fill an empty seat in the stands? ;)

If we're down to 2 fit OH's, SJ starting and ROG on the bench, what happens if we get one of them injured in the first test? I guess someone must be on standby at least to head down.

I reckon at this stage they need to at the very least have another out half on standby, I suspect they may even summon another before the weekend comes.
It would seem like a very big risk to only have to fully fit players for that position.

Cmon lads, seriously, don't be taking the piss.

You know it's got to be Henson.

If we are talking about fly half cover and nothing else (and bearing in mind only ROG and jones were chosen as fly halves to begin with anyway), then Sexton is the next best fly half left behind. Ciprianai is potentially better, but is not playing anywhere near to his potential at the moment. If you had to fly someone out to play at short notice I would definitely pick Sexton. Its not going to happen unless ROG or Jones get injured though, the management felt those two (along with Flutey I guess) were enough to being with.

Well Murray is out now. Think they plan to bring in a replacement. http://www.rte.ie/sport/rugby/lions/2009/0618/murraye.html

If they bring in someone for Hook I would think Henson stands a good chance!

Yes there is. If a state of concussion is determined he will be out for three weeks.

Didn't know Stephen Jones frequented this site.

To be fair, those quotes are from some doctor in London hypothesising, hardly an official line.

If he IS out, perhaps one of the Ireland props, who were unlucky to miss out?

I'd imagine Nicky Robinson and Phil Godman are the ones next in line. Robinson was on stand-by originally.

I don't think they will call out another tighthead, with 4 props still on tour - 3 of whom can play tighthead.

Is that a serious reply? I thought it would be pretty obvious why they would call up another ten if we're down to two. Facepalm for that post.

Hillarious, the way you put G'WAN in front of so many of your posts.

Nope there isn't, there used to be a 6 week mandatory rest but that was scrapped. Players can simply avoid it by getting a all clear from a doctor.

I was told to stop playing for at least two weeks when I got concussion a few months ago.

I doubt anyone will be called up, seeing as only two OHs were named in the first place. That decision seems so risky now in retrospect.

Im not saying that if you get concussion you should go straight back in im saying that those rules have been completely ignored by professional rugby clubs for years.
