Not sure how much Murvagh is but I'd play there, great course.

Edit: €55 Monday-Friday. Well worth it.

    Yep. I'd second that.

When are you going to be there?

There are plenty of courses not too far away. Rosses point is only 20 mind away but it's probably a little over the budget. strandhill is another 20 mins further away and I don't think the fees are too bad. Castle dargan is about 3/4 of an hour away and is about 60 euro. Castle Hume is about 40 mins away heading towards enniskillen and is reasonable in terms of green fees.

I'd ask David or chris in the shop when you get to bundoran about where is the best value nearby. They'll be able to point you in the right direction and advise you of what you are likely to be charged.

    cheers for the replies.

ill be up there next week. will only fit in 2 rounds of golf though! 1 being bundoran+am still deciding on the other one.

so you guys reckon murvagh would be the best option?

Yeah, well Murvagh is a great course and the rate is just about the budget you said. Its well worth the money though, excellent value for money. As I said, it might be no harm asking the lads in the pro shop where is good value at the moment. There is a good chance they'll know whats on offer elsewhere. I'd imagine there'll be no hassle getting tee times anywhere especially during the week.

If you are playing on wednesday next week i'd give bundoran a miss that day as there is a classic on, unless you want to play in it of course!

like others have said - murvagh & rosses point are the two nearest and both are excellent. about 20/30 mins further on from murvagh is narin & portnoo which is also a great links....not up to the other twos standards imho but still worth the visit. letterkenny is about 30 mins from murvagh and is a parkland, i havent played it in yrs but have been told its greatly improved from then.

I wouldn't bother with Letterkenny, it's like crazy golf. Some of the new holes are really good but some are just a bit silly, with draind running in every direction and you don't really know where you're supposed to be hitting it.

thanks for all the help. ill probably go for bundoran and murvagh.

although i might actually skip bundoran and do murvagh+strandhill because ive played bundoran before and strandhill will be around the same price

I'd recommend doing that, Strandhill is a much better course than Bundoran.
