Any advice on side stitch?

I am plagued with a stitch up under my right ribs. It doesn't seem to depend on eating or drinking too soon before I run, and can come on even with a light jog.
Even the day or a couple of days after a "stitch run" I can feel it lingering at just a walk.
I have heard the exhale on left stride thing, but it doesn't seem to work for me. Find it hard to regulate.
    Any other advice?

Have you tried putting your fingers under your rib-cage and lifting? I read this suggestion somewhere before. Also massaging the location of the side-stich (if you can get at it). Also not eating within 90 minutes of running, and sipping rather than drinking water.

I was plagued with it last year as well. I found not downing a load of water before going out for a run helped.
The other thing was to alternate you inhale and exhale with your foot strike. , i.e. don't inhale every 2 strides, try every 3. This means inhaling when the left foot strikes, then the next inhale is when the right foot strikes.
    Hope that helps

Another remedy I got from my training coach is to squeeze something with your right hand, be it a drink your holding or a stone you could pick up.
