Brilliant. I have never done that but I am familiar enough with the Dublin region. I don't think the coast roads north and south of Dublin are that great for cycling due to traffic. But slightly inland you have the country roads of the north and the wicklow hills of the south which are brilliant for cycling so use them!

go clockwise around the country to have a better view of the sea

It's something in the order of 2000km if you try to do as many of the coast roads as possible,

how much time do you want to spend on it / what milage per day ?

Do you want to avoid bad hills or cul de sacs, there is a lovely little bay at the end of Achill island but a lot of climbing in to and out of it.

You have to do the Dingle peninsula and the Antrim coastline

You could go out past the Pigeon House as far as you can.
There is a footpath from Bray head to Wicklow worth doing

I wouldn't be inclined to do that on a road bike though.

Wasn't it also closed because of the rock fall a couple of months back?

[edit] Yep, this is it. No idea if they've cleared it up though as I haven't been on it since.
