Attended forestry course in Cavan and spent two years felling after that. Went back to construction after that but needless to say regret it now!!

Is there much work in forstry these days or has it gone like everything else?

they were earning millions each year but stupid spending of money and some of there members arent even doing there jobs right but still get 60k a year
some areas of forests arent managed properly
if they go bust i wonder what will happen to the forests?

I graduated with a degree in Forestry from UCD many many years ago, and am originally from a farming background. I'm not involved in forestry at the moment, other than occasionally tending some forestry on our family farm.

I've done a number of the Coillte and BFC courses- including the chainsaw course which I thoroughly enjoyed. The basic first aid course I built on and am now a paramedic, and I've also done the fire fighting courses.
