Queries about returning to old course!

Hi everyone, just wondering if anybody would be able to help me with this or point me in the direction of who in trinity i should contact in relation to this.

I was in Trinity a few years ago studying for a health science degree. after completing three years successfully i decided to defer my final year for personal reasons. the following year i was due to go back but at the last minute i decided i wasn't able for it and didn't go back. i would've liked to see if i could defer for another year but my mother had already gotten hold of the registration letter and paid the fees for that online. in order to get her money back then i had to formally withdraw from the course for return of fees.

so its nearly two years since i was due to return after my year out and with the job market the way it is etc. i've come to realise how important qualifications are (even if you're not working in that area) and am wondering if it would be possible to return and finish my final year?

so does anyone know if it would be possible to return to finish considering i formally withdrew from the course? or transfer to another college to finish? or who i should i contact to talk to about this?

    any help greatly appreciated! thanks!

I'd imagine you'll have to start talking to both the Admissions Office and the Health Science Faculty Office (or at least they'd point you to the school office that you'd need to contact). It's possible the course you did may have changed the content slightly so just be prepared of that possibility.

Do you remember who your tutor was from years ago? They may be able to help. Alternatively someone from the Senior Tutor's Office should have details of when you deferred your course.

Oh, and ring them, don't e-mail! Best of luck with it :)

great, thanks for that! don't think the course layout could have changed that much as 4th year was pretty much all clinical placement and as far as i know still is. either way its worth giving it a try i reckon!
    thanks a million :)

For some health sciences courses, there may be difficulties with returning to a course after a prolonged period. I know of one person who took time out from nursing for health reasons, but wasn't able to go back after a gap of two years - she would have had to return and start from first year. Your best bet is to contact the departmental office for your course and explain your situation.
