I came across this on the internet, the Chuai oil rig sinking in the mid atlantic, there are no mainstream news accounts as far as I can see. It supposedly happened in Dec?/Jan 2008, I was away for over a month at the the time in a non english speaking country and did'nt watch the news. I really dont know what to make of it, does anybody know anything, the rig was owned by a Japanese company, Tagruato.

Theres some organisation http://tidowave.com/blog/ saying "Tagruato is destroying our oceans. We are The Wave, rising tall to crash over them and wash the filth away."

Can anybody fill me in on any of this???

Expert tip : When a camera is shaking around 5 times more vigourously than it should for no apparent reason then it's probably not real.

Yea I do actually, as I said I didnt know what to make of it, I came across a German or Dutch version first, I saw something about cloverfield alright but never heard of cloverfield, maybe I should have dug a little deeper, but to save my energy I just threw it in here, 3 mins later the mystery was solved, they seemed real news reports.

On an inflatable dingy in the sea with an oil rig collapsing seemed a plausible reason for the camera shake and I figured he hadnt got a tripod handy, then I thought the things shooting out of the sea were some sort of bhoy's that had been attached to the rig then broke free, shooting to the surface at high speed.

It's not a bad clip, considering it appears to have been done in Maxon.

You mean from a helicopter? A real news station wouldn't cut just as the thing collapses!

Last-ditch effort to halt sinking of oil rig

Greenpeace campaigners were last night planning their final attempt to block Shell's plan to dump a disused oil installation in the deep waters of the Atlantic.

A second and bigger Greenpeace vessel, the Dutch-registered Altair, arrived last night in the Shetland Islands to aid the protesters aboard the Moby Dick.

They have harried Shell workers preparing the Brent Spar for its final destination 150 miles north-west of the Hebrides.

Protesters in inflatables clashed on Saturday with workers lifting the anchor chains from the structure.

Two Greenpeace supporters were reported to have been thrown into the water during the clashes.

Worsening weather yesterday led to a stand-off between both sides and the Brent Spar stayed in position, held to the seabed 110 miles north- east of Shetland by its one remaining anchor chain.

Greenpeace said: "We will do everything we possible can to win this battle. We are still determined to prevent the dumping."

Greenpeace claims sea-dumping poses an environmental hazard and could set a precedent for the disposal of other North Sea oil installations.

Shell insists the plan carries minimal environmental risk and is the best and safest option for an unusual installation which is a "one-off" in North Sea terms.

The company said that the operation to dispose of the Brent Spar rig was continuing on schedule.

I wouldn't go watching armageddon if your that gulable!

If you bothered reading my first post you'd see I said I was away at the time, I saw it in dutch/german first, then russian, then english all a few minutes before I posted, I said I didnt know what to make of it, meaning I didnt believe or disbelieve, had I started an argument claiming it was real I'd put my hands up and say I was "gullible".
Dont worry I wont be watching Armageddon or such crap.
P.S. If your going to try be a smart-ass try spelling the word properly.
