Update 1st Gen iPhone running 2.1 to 3.0?

    I have a 1st Gen unlocked and jailbroken iPhone running firmware version 2.1. Can this be safely upgraded to the new 3.0 and still be unlocked and jailbroken?

    Not yet.

    I am hoping to do it at some stage, but I don't think the unlock has been released yet.

    Keep an eye on this forum.

    I've the first Gen and i've updated to 3.0 no problem and still remain unlocked think the jailbreak wont work because of an update to itunes 8.2

    From what i've read you've to wait till quickpawn comes out, which should be still be sometime today or possibly early tommorrow morning.

    If you upgrade now the iphone will need to activate it again, which you can't do it if your on a different network. Just wait another 12 hours and you'll be grand. This is from what I hear anyways :p

    Mmm, I have a jailbreaked and unlocked 1st gen running 1.1.4 (still!) and if an unlock and jb is released, would it be possible for me to update to 3.0?
