    Hey,
I'm not really sure where I should post this question... apologies if it's in the wrong category...
I am just wondering whether or not you really have to have a telephone line to have Sky installed?
I dont want to pay line rental for something that I dont want to use... Ive enough bills without adding a house phone to it. :P
Is there a way of getting sky without it? ideally i want to get the multiroom

    thanks
    :)

You need a phone line for Sky Multiroom (more than one Sky set top box). If you only require one box then no phone line is necessary. I have multiroom. I 'installed' two very temporary phone lines before the engineer came to install them. I've removed both lines now and haven't heard from Sky. Apparently the set top boxes randomly preform a 'Callback' to verify that boxes are in the same location and that they are not being done out of another subscription.

You might get a better response if you post this on the Satellite forum (Tech > Cable & Digital TV > Satellite).

For Sky or SKY+ to ONE TV in the house - no phoneline is necessary although they will charge you €37.50 for a manual installation fee

But for SKY Multiroom (two or more tvs and sky boxes, able to watch different sky channel on both) you need a phoneline, otherwise they wont install it.

Thanks for the advice. Tis a bit of a pain bout the phone lines. Might just have to have it in one room so, although I do like the idea of the temporary phone line.....;)
