Working time act

Hi all, first of all i'm not sure if this is the proper forum for this question so mods feel free to move as necessary; I've been reading a lot about the working time act lately, i read the UK govt is looking for an 'opt out' clause of some sort. My question is, is the working time directive currently enacted in Ireland? Does Ireland have an opt out clause? Or have any irish companies 'rejected' the act itself? Any help or information would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
