neighbors tree roots growing under wall

    Hi,
I have a problem with my neighbors tree. the roots are shallow, (run close to the surface) they're growing under the dividing wall and possibly under my shed, but they are certainly spreading across the garden and sprouting up new branches. I've approached the tree owner about this issue twice and each time he has ignored me. The tree is only about 15 years old and will get a lot bigger. The question is, is he responsible and to what extent?
Thank in advance for any advice.

hey Baldieman, if the roots are on your property you can cut them/poison them. If you have tried to reason with him and your neighbour wont see sense...why should you put up with the destruction of your property?

And just maybe, have the tree fall on your house for lack of support. Be careful in any such course of action
