Hmmmmm, the Sunday Tribune? I lost a lot of faith in that paper over the last number of years.

Too many tabloid type made-up stories. I would take that report with a pinch of salt.

I would be surprised if apple were not looking at dublin - for the past couple of years...

The main problem has been the small size of units on Grafton St & the lack of big name retailers...

there has been talk of Apple; Abercrombe; Harrods & Brown Thomas all setting up either on Westmorland St, or O'Connell St where building sizes are larger & rents lower - this has been highlighted by the fact that BT have made a number of statements over the past year suggesting they may consider a shop on the Northside - which is a big statement for them to make as many of their clients are snobs...

Don't get me wrong, I would love to see it.

But as you say, a lot of big names have been associated with Grafton St. and have not materialised.

I remember playing with the iPhone in the Apple shop in San Francisco and buying it pretty much straight away (after receiving clearance, of course).

It would be a great addition to the street, and great to be able to play with all the Apple toys.

Ah the apple stores are class. Would love to see one in Dublin. Was actually just thinking yesterday how Grafton Street doesnt have one. I can remeber being in america and you had to make an appointment when to get in its was that busy.

We have one in the center of Munich. Great store, feels a bit like a temple or monument to Apple when you walk in the door.

I've heard the term a few times - what exactly is it?

Can you have a drink and play with Apple gadgets? How cool would that be?

Dont want to rock the boat or anything but why is it automatically linked with Grafton st???

The old ManU/ Redz unit on O'Connell bridge would be a decent central spot to develop, if their gonna wave their wand over a old premises

Its to do with the assumed quality of surrounding brands & the quality of the location. + that building is a ****e retail location...

its a bit out of the way of the other shops i guess but IMHO that would be a class spot for an Apple store - really would stand out there on the corner and its handy enough between henry and grafton st areas. would sure smarten up westmoreland st too -thats lookin real kippy these days

i hope Apple dont go for a shopping centre venue. The apple store in Westfield in West london is alright but its not very central. but then they have Regent st store

Genius bar is where u can go and sit/talk to an Apple genius and get help with your products - am i right? would be extremely helpful - nothing worse than having to phone tech support - i always prefer to try to fix myself using support forums

I think the old Habitat location on College Green as mentioned in the article would be ideal - nice and big and central. College Green should really be a much better urban space than it is now.

Yea the Habitat building would be perfect for it. Apple love taking old buildings, smacking a glass cube on the front and calling it an Apple Store :)

It's central but at the same time, rent would be a little less since it's not Grafton Street. Also the Habitat Store is huge so it's perfect for Apple
