using vfone sim in meteor modem?

hi,i have vodafone mobile b/band using the huawei e220 modem.i was given a meteor huawei e180 modem by someone and tried to put the v fone sim in it but wouldnt work for me.is there a anyway of doing this?

The modem is SIM locked to the network, just like a phone. Changing the modem will make practically no difference to signal/quality, if that's the reason you're trying.
