Given bike as a present, but too big. Help!

I have been given as a present a giant bike that was bought online from the UK. Unfortunately the large frame size is a tad too big for me. My measurements are in between medium and large, and the peron who bought the bike went for the large frame.

What would be my best option here?

    1. Return the bike back to the uk. Not looking forward to disassembling and packing the bike again. And there's the postage costs again..

    2. Sell the bike in the classifieds and buy a new one

    3. Trade in the bike at a local bike shop and buy the one with the correct size. The bike is brand new, assembled and unused. Any chance of shops doing a 'swap'? Maybe highly unlikely I know!

Try a bike shop I suppose. What bike is it, and what size?

The cheapest/fastest option will almost certainly be to return it.

But you might try calling a Giant dealer (e.g. Stagg Cycles in Lucan) first. The worst case is that they will chuckle at your misfortune and gently remind you of the value of shopping locally :)
