    SD
SmackDown opens with an in-ring promo from Jeff Hardy and CM Punk. The two each cut promos talking about how they're going to walk out of The Bash pay-per view with the World title. Jeff says he'll win his title back that he rightfully won at Extreme Rules. Punk claims he won the title fair and square. Both agree that the better man will be champion after The Bash.

    Jericho vs. Jeff Hardy
Jeff Hardy wins the match via countout. The finish came when Rey Mysterio interferred to attack Jericho, which left him out of the ring for a ten count, giving Hardy the victory.
    Winner by Countout: Jeff Hardy

Dolph Ziggler vs. The Great Khali
Short match, not very good. Finish came when Ziggler got a chair and hit Khali with it. The ref called for the bell, giving Khali the win by disqualification.
Winner by DQ: The Great Khali

    Melina vs. Alicia Fox
Melina wins in a quick match. After the match, Michelle McCool attacked Melina and then said she'd be the first person to hold both the Diva's and Women's championships simaltaneously.
    Winner: Melina

    Edge vs. John Morrison
Edge gets the win clean after a spear.

Winner: EdgeCryme Tyme & R-Truth vs. The World's Greatest Tag Team & Ricky Ortiz
Finish came when R-Truth got the clean pin over Shelton Benjamin.
    Winners: Cryme Tyme & R-Truth

In-Ring Segment: Rey Mysterio Challenges Chris Jericho
Rey Mysterio comes to the ring. Mysterio gets on the mic and challenges Chris Jericho to a match for the Intercontinental title. Jericho comes out and says he accepts if Mysterio is willing to unmask if he loses. The match is made official - Jericho vs. Mysterio, title vs. mask at The Bash pay-per view.

    Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk
Jericho is on commentary during this match. Mysterio and Punk were having a good match and then Jericho interferes. Punk then gets Mysterio with the GTS for the victory.
    Winner: CM Punk

    Dark Match Main Event:
    - Jeff Hardy & Rey Mysterio vs. Edge & Chris Jericho
This was a steel cage match just for the live audience (it won't air on SmackDown this Friday night). The team of Hardy and Mysterio won in a solid match that went about ten minutes.
Winners: Jeff Hardy & Rey Mysterio

    ECW
    Christian vs. Davey Hart Smith
-The Hart Dynasty comes to the ring for Davey Hart Smith's one-on-one match with Christian. The group all attack Christian. Finlay comes out, seemingly to make the save, but instead hits Christian with the shillelagh. The ref calls the match and Christian wins via disqualification.
    Winner by DQ: Christian
-A video highlight of Mark Henry Vs Evan Bourne is shown.
-A "Tribute to the Troops" video package airs.
    Backstage: Gregory Helms Interviews Finlay
Backstage, Gregory Helms interviews Finlay about why he attacked Christian. Finlay doesn't give any real reason.
    Mark Henry vs. Evan Bourne

Evan actually tripped entering the ring - that will likely be edited out for TV. Henry wins in a quick squash match with The World's Strongest Slam. After the pin, Henry continued the beatdown on Bourne.
    Winner: Mark Henry

-Gregory Helms interviews Jack Swagger about his match with Dreamer

    Jack Swagger vs. Tommy Dreamer

After the match Finlay comes out and attacks Tommy Dreamer. Christian comes out for the save. Finlay attacks them both. ECW ends with Finlay walking out.

    Winner: Jack Swagger

Finlay is heel it seems, without the midget he was never going to be over as v face anyways.Smackdown looks good, Edge v Jo Mo, Rey v Punk and Jeff vs Jericho are matches that should be good.

For some reason this made me laugh. Is Helms a really bad interviewer, or is Finlay being deliberately obtuse?:pac:

He did give a reason when I was watching it. That it was because Dreamer and Christian injured his eye when trying to break up their brawl and where he comes from "An eye for an eye". Perfectly clear! Unless that never happened and I'm having random dreams again

Very good Smackdown yet again, Rey vs Punk was good as was Jericho v Jeff but the highlight of the night had to be John Morrison v Edge, which hopefully may be a breakout match for Jo Mo, the promo before the match was also decent from Jo Mo.

I agree another good show. WWE must be happy they pushed Jo Mol lately or they would have had nobody for Edge to feud with.

The roster depth is looking very tight these days.

One of the my favourite things about smackdown is they are using the moments before a match to allow promos and create hostility betwen guys. This week the Jo Mo edge stuff created a reason to care about the match. In the last couple of weeks they did the same with R Truth and Jericho.
