Hey Guys, i'm in the market for a projector.
Sub 1000e mark, basically gonna watch hd movies on it and play xbox etc....

I was dreaming of this projector
    http://www.projectorcentral.com/Panasonic-PT-AE3000.htm
The Panasonic PT-AE3000U Projector, but it's around about the 2000e mark so a bit too pricey.

Any one got any better ideas?

When I bought my projector a few years ago (where I can't recall), I found the techno nerds on this forum to be invaluable.

    http://www.avforums.com/forums/index.php

It's forums can be incredibly specialist and people can give you ideas you would never have thought of eg someone told me an Argos black out blind for €30 would make an good projector screen, I bought it and they were right.

First, figure out which model of projector you would like to buy, then do price comparison on google.com
From my past experience, I was looking for BENQ MP522ST, it costs so much more expensive here in ireland, the UK was kind of favourable but they dun do delivery across, so I checked the price from ALL over europe, checking prices in Spanish/Portuguese/Italian/Deustch (using google translate to find the translation of "PRICE"), in the end, I found a website from Spain that costs some 100 euros less, so I bought my projector from that Spanish website.
the projector works perfectly and no problem at all, the only thing you have to get is just a power cable.
This is the website I used to buy my projector:
    http://www.isinformatica.es/
USE GOOGLE TRANSLATE to read the site, though not exact translation, u can guess.
They may ask you Qs in Spanish, again use Google Translate to help...
    hope my advice helps

    Hi,

I'm also in the market for a projector (€500 - €1000). Any new places in the last 6 months or any new tips of where to get a competitively priced projector shipped to Ireland. Amazon in the states seems to be the cheapest but they don't deliver here ;o(

    Go Team!

Have you had a look at the Optoma HD200X or the HD20? They seem to get good reviews in the sub-£1000 1080p category.

US prices always seem attractive but by the time you add on duty and VAT there is often not a huge difference to the best EU prices.

    Hey hey,

Thanks a lot for the reply, I was thinking of getting an LCD one as I'm worried about the rainbow effect. I checked out those links and they seem great but they are almost €1,000 each, they are about $1,000 in the states, Could get a flight over to the states for the difference and have a "free" holiday! I'm off to check out flights.....

    Go Team!
