Hi, I have to ask you how you are getting on with your hairdressing course. I am a newly qualified Solicitor, just married and want to change to hairdressing! Trying to muster up the courage to make the big change and would really appreciate your views! Thanks.:o

Hi there, I love it. There is a lot more to it than hairdressing as well. You do Customer Service, Communications, Science, Health & Safety, Computers and on Friday you do a whole day of cosmetic studies which includes manicure, pedicure and facials. You can also sit the CITBAC Nail Diploma if you wish. In the hairdressing modules on Thurs & Fri, you cover all aspects of rollering, perming, neutralising, straight cut, layer cut. As part of the course, you also have to complete 10 days work experience in a hair salon and afterwards you complete an assignment based on it. I just finished my 10 days last Friday and it was great.

I made the jump from law (company secretary) and I have to say I have never looked back. I'm hoping to get into the 2nd year of the course next year and in that you cover colour and you work 2 days a week in a salon.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks a million, it sounds like you made the right decision anyway! Think I might just do it, hopefully it won't take a lifetime to get to the point where you know what you're doing!

Thanks again and best of luck with the rest of the course.
