iPhone 3.0 software update

    Hi Guys, just checked iTunes and the 3.0 software isn't available yet (for me anyway) anybody else have any luck?

    Do you know what time it will be available today.

    Depends. Probably be Cupertino time. I believe we're 9 hours ahead, so if it's midnight there, it's 9am here. If it's 9am there, it's 6pm here. All we know is that it's coming today. All I know is that it's out there already if you know where to look. I've had it the last 12 hours or so.

    I checked this morning too and it's not available (in UK). I'd imagine as it's not available this side of the pond yet that it will be a simulataneous release when the US wake up.

    Apple never seem to put their updates out bang on midnight (cupertino time or otherwise) and could be anytime during the day.

    I got it off the torrent sites last night, works fine. Now all i need is the jailbreak later today hopefully!

    Works great alright and works even better with FREE tethering. Installed that last night without jailbreaking thanks to www.jellysms.com/blog

    Downloaded the update from the link in this thread... and installed using the instructions in this video.

    Yeah, just keep trying. Unplug the phone and plug it back in again. You'll get initialised after a couple of goes.

    I've a problem after downloading and installing the update.

    The phone tells me to insert a SIM that is not PIN locked to activate the iPhone. Providing the correct PIN does not work. How is it possible to remove the PIN lock? Am I right in thinking that if I put the SIM card into another phone and remove the lock that I will be OK. Or should just contact O2 for a replacement, unlocked SIM?

    Any help appreciated.

    EDIT : Sorted. I input an incorrect PIN 3 times. Then I entered the PUK and a new PIN and all was well. Phew!
